Maine Clean Elections

I’m running for the Maine House of Representatives as a Clean Elections candidate. The Maine Clean Election Act allows candidates to run for office with public funding, supported by small contributions from voters rather than large private donation.

The goal is simple: campaigns that are accountable to the people they serve.

What this means

As a Clean Elections candidate, my campaign is supported by everyday voters through small qualifying contributions. Once a candidate qualifies, campaign funding comes from the public Clean Election Fund instead of large donors or political action committees.

This system is designed to keep campaigns transparent, accessible, and focused on local communities.

Make a $5 qualifying contribution

The most direct way to support a Clean Elections candidate is by making a $5 qualifying contribution.

A qualifying contribution:

  • Is $5
  • Comes from the personal funds of a registered Maine voter
  • Helps a candidate qualify for Clean Elections funding

These contributions show community support and are required for Clean Elections candidates to receive public campaign funds.

Important rules

Who can contribute?

Any registered Maine voter may make a $5 qualifying contribution. Party affiliation does not matter.

How much?

Qualifying contributions are $5 per voter.

Where the money goes?

Qualifying contributions are made to the Maine Clean Election Fund, not directly to my campaign.

Deadlines

To qualify for Clean Elections funding, all required qualifying contributions must be submitted by the state’s official deadline. This is a hard deadline, and late contributions cannot be counted.
